It's really surprising how "PhD Comics" artists know almost all the silly things about our graduate life, and how students, advisers and their relationships are the same almost everywhere! (Sometimes I think they're here at UofM!)
Here, I've collected some of those:
This is EXACTLY my case (actually once he sent me a very long and nice e-mail mostly saying that "never say your adviser's busy!", but that case can be supposed as an exception!)
Just look at the student's e-mail: "I was wondering if perhaps you might have possibly gotten the chance to potentially find the time to maybe look..." hehe!

And this one is the same for almost all, but some advisers try to be a bit nicer!

It happens frequently for science-fiction-based research (Sometimes I imagine that for my next couple of years!... But just ask your senior students for now! :D)

And I can see this obviously happens for those submitting papers, esp. with tenures or busy advisers:

And for deadline (We always feel it: "Another week?!" hehe! :D)

Professors vs. Ninjas (It's a bit unrelated, but still funny!)

And finally, it's exactly my case when I try to enter the cleanroom without taking my card out of my pocket (sometimes even jumping doesn't help much!)

P.S. 1. I couldn't find the comic that was about getting nerd in JOKES and CHATTING, but you might see it here, in this post! :D
Am I getting nerd?!...
P.S. 2. We had almost the same thing in one of Sharif U of Tech.'s magazines ("Noghte Sare Khat"), which was called "our beloved advisers"; but it was jokes, not comics. Anyway, I guess the name "our beloved advisers" can be more suitable for this post's contents!

I can't say SUT is the same as U of M,but some how I'm experiencing the same story these days. None of my advisors(!) is reachable & there's no much time left for proposals to be handed in!
By the way, the comics were fun.
Thanks :)
To Honey: It applies to all graduate schools; so, is not supposed to be limited just to the UofM!
BTW, you're welcome! :)
It was jokes?! eshtebah nakon! shayad baraye gheyre-sharifia joke bashe, vali vase maha khateras! ...
nice collection of PhD comics. I absolutely adore them because they hit it right on the spot most of the times... (^_^)
